Vaccination Policy

Each site placement accepts Federal Funding through Medicaid, Medicare, or other Federal Grant Funding. Therefore, each site is subject to the current Federal Vaccination policies. Across all placement sites, the COVID vaccine is strongly required and pending current legislation, each location will have a vaccine mandate following the January 3rd deadline. This is subject to change based upon federal requirements.

Nondiscrimination Policy

The Oklahoma Private Practice Internship Consortium (OPPIC) does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, age, gender identity and expression, or military/veteran status in its programs and activities.  As such, OPPIC welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds. The training consortium believes that a diverse training environment contributes to the overall quality of the program.

OPPIC’s goal in diversity training is to ensure that interns develop the knowledge, skills, and awareness necessary to provide competent psychological services to all members of the public. To this end, the OPPIC’s training program requires an expected competency in individual and cultural diversity. These competencies were developed to comply with the APA’s statement on Preparing Professional Psychologists to Serve a Diverse Public: “. . . professional psychology training programs strive to ensure that psychology trainees demonstrate acceptable levels of knowledge, skills, and awareness to work effectively with diverse individuals.” Diversity experiences and training are interwoven throughout the training program to ensure that interns are both personally supported and well-trained in this area.  Examples of training areas include but are not limited to supervision, book studies, didactic presentations, and conference attendance.

OPPIC provides equal opportunity to all prospective interns and as such welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds.  Diversity among interns and supervisors enriches the educational experience, promotes personal growth, and strengthens communities and the workplace.  Therefore, we make a concerted effort to provide an inclusive, culturally sensitive workplace in which all staff and interns feel respected and comfortable, leading to optimal professional growth and development.
